SENSITIVE FUNERALS DESIGNED WITH YOU

How are you? When someone close dies, it can be a really difficult time.  So many emotions, so much to organise.  A funeral or memorial ceremony that captures the essence of the person and what they meant to you can really help.  A ceremony that will help you to mourn them in a dignified way, and to remember them with happiness.

Adam can help you to do exactly that, by writing and leading a ceremony to celebrate the life that has ended.

If you are thinking of planning your own funeral in advance, Adam can do that too - he is accredited by Humanists UK to provide pre-planned funerals.

A TAILORED EVENT TO COMMEMORATE
A SPECIAL PERSON

If you decide to work with Adam, he will write a funeral that celebrates and pays tribute to the person who has died.

Together you will:

  • Choose words and music that reflect that person, and help everyone to remember them

  • Decide whether relatives or friends will speak at the event. This can be hard, but very worthwhile.  If it proves impossible on the day, Adam will always step in at the last moment!

In the time before the funeral, Adam will work closely with you, the funeral director, and any other professionals you appoint, to ensure that everything goes ahead with the minimum of stress and fuss. On the day, Adam will lead the funeral ceremony, making sure that everything goes smoothly.  Afterwards, you will receive a copy of the ceremony as a keepsake.

Adam is also accredited to offer pre-planned funerals.  Maybe you have thought about planning your own funeral?  Adam can work on that with, and once you have agreed a script it will be stored securely until it is needed.

Funeral Directors are very experienced and do a great job. But you may choose not to use one.  In that case, Adam can provide the help and support you need.

HERE TO HELP IN DIFFICULT TIMES

Every funeral should be special - an individual and personal celebration of the person who has died.  For example:

  • As a dedicated motorcyclist, Adam is always happy to conduct biker funerals

  • More people are now considering green or woodland burials, in tranquil landscaped areas set aside for the purpose.  If environmental issues matter to you, then this may be a good choice

  • Have a look at this blog, which covers both of these areas: biker-funerals-in-the-uk

Where you hold the funeral or memorial ceremony is up to you, and something to discuss; you are free to choose the best place.  It can be in your local crematorium, but it doesn't have to be.  Holding a ceremony in a place that has real meaning for you can be a very helpful part of the grieving process

REVIEWS

Feedback from Clients

Having seen Adam in action numerous times, I cannot recommend him highly enough. A natural speaker, providing the perfect mix of compassion and empathy – but with the innate ability to bring some gentle humour and genuine warmth to an otherwise sombre occasion

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you for your support over these tough few days. We so appreciated your kindness, understanding, empathy of a difficult family setup and willingness to get to know [our mother] with the many facets of her life.  The ceremony was lovely and calm as you had predicted and your script was meaningful and gave young and old time to remember and reflect on individual memories.  [My sister] and I urge you to continue on with your Humanist path.  Your gentleness and the comfort you wrap around the family at a sad time enables us all to get through a very emotional journey

Brilliant!  Perfect - thank you

AJ

Thank you so much for making the celebration of T’s life such a personal and fitting tribute to all the aspects of his full and long life.  The whole experience… went so smoothly, all due to your professionalism in dealing with the funeral director, the crematorium and on the day.  I felt really at ease

SC

Thank you for making B's funeral such a special event.  The tone was just right, and what perfect timing!  We have had loads of positive comments about it

MP

Your presentation was faultless; you managed to get under the skin of G and you portrayed him very well indeed.  The tone and timing were just right and the humour was subtle and comforting.  The feedback from friends and family was all very positive.  I feel so much better now I have had this opportunity to let him go in such a light and positive way, and I thank you for that... I feel very well looked after considering the state of panic and despair that I came to you with - I am now in control and at ease

LM

A deep bow to your attentiveness and care, your inclusiveness, your professionalism.  The copy of the words that you have left me with, that let P's life speak, feel like grace in concrete form.  I want to thank you so much for the gift of your crafting and holding of the ceremony

BR

I felt so relaxed walking into the crematorium for Dad's funeral, and that was thanks to you and the way you handled everything so beautifully.  Everyone who was there in person, and who watched the webcast, said the ceremony was just perfect
